The Halong bay tour with this company was pretty average. We went for the Halong Galaxy cruise and we did not get exactly what we were hoping for. We got an amazing deal through the company website, which stated that it was 3 star instead of 4 star as mentioned on booking.com and other channels. And yes, it is just 3 star –just above average. The cruise room we were assigned was not in good condition. The services were fairly good but the food service was tad disappointing. They served rice at the end of the meal and there was nothing to go with it (except vegetable). And to our disappointment, we got served the same meal all three times. I must mention that the last lunch was rather rushed and the trip over all was not relaxing.

After the cruise, we had to head to the airport right away so we missed the food tour they had on offer (for no fee of course). But today rather pleasantly, in the e-mail, they sent a voucher for two for a free food tour worth $60. Of course I can’t use it but I can always gift it to friends, relatives visiting Vietnam in 2016! I thought that was a nice touch. My friends are coming to Vietnam and I am sure they will be able to use it.

I am going to be fair here. This company is a cruise agency and they should not be at fault. They were listed as a 4 star everywhere while they are 3 star. They do provide a very good price, ( much lower than others who bought it from their hotel - some paid 70$ more for a cabin - and of course no free food tour) and a very easy payment method . They also sent a driver to get to the airport and it was quite a good deal for us. The driver was pretty nice too. I believe that leaving a 5 star rating for their services here will be fair for this real local operator and their services. Otherwise, I would not recommend the cruise we came with or simply maybe if somebody books it, they should know that it is a 3 star cruise and not expect too much.
